Specific comments made about this task

Aberdeen City Council - 2014-02-10
very straight-forward

Birmingham City Council - 2013-12-18
'Twitter' in A-Z, but not 'Social media' or 'Facebook'.

Birmingham City Council - 2016-07-18
The main ones were there in the footer of every page. Going to the linked page for all the accounts, the main text was a large block about setting up a council online account to make complaints, followed by a very long list of Twitter accounts

Bracknell Forest Council - 2014-03-10
No A-Z link for 'social media'.

Cardiff Council - 2014-02-05
The navigation result was very easy. The social media account (Twitter) was on the right-hand side of the webpage and was clear and visible because there was a big twitter logo on the side (bird). However, the A-Z section needs to be improved because you can' tell which is the relevant part. You don't even know which letter to search. The internal search wasn't helpful and it wasn't relevant. The Google search redirected me to the home page where the contact was written. In this task, the A-Z or Internal search weren't needed because the social media accounts were right at the bottom or on the right-hand side. This is ok but the website as a whole needs to be more organised.

City of Edinburgh Council - 2015-02-26
Pages on social media acceptable policies - a hectoring tone. No actual links to social media accounts found. Google search call up a "social media accounts" link, but it's a 404 - page not found.

Copeland Borough Council - 2014-02-12
The design of the home page hiding the fact of there being content off-screen to scroll down to made this harder. Search just produced a FAQ page called 'How do you communicate with residents' which was just waffle text.

Coventry City Council - 2014-02-06
The Navigation from the home page was the easiest because they were all listed right at the bottom of the web page. you just had to scroll: no clicking involved! The A-Z, Internal and Google searches were easy and straight forward. For A-Z, you had to look for 'Social Media' in 'S'. The relevant options were at the top of the search results. Overall, the quickest search method to use would be the 'Navigation Result' as all you need to do is scroll right down to the bottom of the screen.

Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council - 2018-08-30
'Social Wall' as the name of the page is a bit brand-y, but at least should be clear enough. The page itself was an absolute mess. A search for 'social media' brought up far too many results none of which immediately looked relevant, but searching for 'social media accounts' at least produced more focused results.

Great Yarmouth Borough Council - 2014-09-04
Gave up but then realised it was at the bottom of the page.

Liverpool City Council - 2015-01-15
It's difficult to find social media links on the Liverpool City Council site but I found it easily from a Google search.

Newcastle City Council - 2014-12-18
Although I gave up on the A-Z search the social media buttons were directly below the menu and in reality I would have used these.

North Tyneside Council - 2015-08-12
website layout is bland and in some cases couild be hazardous to those with epilepsy due to when scrolling the dark bars lining the page flash by
