Specific comments made about this task

Aberdeen City Council
I searched the council website using the keyword 'register to vote' and the the first result that came back was shown in HTML code - please find the example below The Scottish Independence Referendum FAQs for young voters ... Do I need to be 16 to register to vote? No ... 2014). I wasn’t born in Scotland –
Can I still register to vote in the referendum? ... Once I clicked into the PDF document the text was fine.

Birmingham City Council
It would be good if in the months before an election is known to be happening for it to tell you when the actual registration deadline is. The page is very wordy; I'm sure even legal reasons mean it doesn't have to be so.

Birmingham City Council
good, but would benefit with big buttons. click ehre to register to vote. the text links look a bit hidden in the content.

Birmingham City Council
There was a page linked directly from the home page about registering to vote. The page said there was a link to the online registration site, but there was no link

Blackburn with Darwen Council
Nothing in the A-Z under "V" - it's under "E" for elections instead

Bracknell Forest Council
Electoral roll is called electoral register on this site. It's not obvious from the homepage which may be something to consoider with upcoming elections.

Brent Council
If someone just wants to register to vote, there are too many clicks. The option to log on to the on line form should appear very early in the pages. Residents have to vote on line, there is no paper option any more so we should meake this easy to find

Camden Council
Fairly straightforward, though some instructions only clear only

Cheshire East Council
The home page navigation was based on the assumption that the user would select 'Council and Democracy'. Council staff know to use this terminology, but would the public?

Cornwall Council
Very easy to find - though actual registering instructions could be clearer.

Coventry City Council
Would have thought this would appear under the 'Apply for it' button.

Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council
'Registering to vote' was the seventh result on an internal search for 'register to vote'.

East Lothian Council
no clear information on how to register

Enfield Council
Could be slightly clearer in terms of instructions for voting, but all info is there.

Gravesham Borough Council
Nothing came up for the Google test. When i searched Gravesham though, the page was 3rd in the list.

Harrow Council
Having to click on something unrelated to get to council and democracy could be problematic

Liverpool City Council
Easy to find, but had to guess-click a link to find the form.

London Borough of Lewisham
The page was cluttered, not enough white space. There are also full stops on lists which makes readability difficult.

Manchester City Council
Different form from search to navigation.

North Lincolnshire Council
Very easy throughout. Task was available from homepage, listed in the A-Z under E and relevant site and google searches both produced top results.

North Lincolnshire Council
Very easy throughout. Task was available from homepage, listed in the A-Z under E and relevant site and google searches both produced top results.

Ryedale District Council
Although the internal search result made it easy to register, this was via the Notice of EU Referendum page (search return no 2 in the list) which had included a link to the GDS, not the Register to Vote main page (returned at position 7 in the list).

Surrey County Council
Surrey doesn't deal with electoral roll which is handled by district and borough councils. Most searches find pages about the archives of electoral registers.

West Lindsey District Council
Postal and proxy voting is shown in the A-Z link, I think it would be an idea to include 'Vote-Register' as an option. A lot of information is on the page, not sure if it is all relevant. It would be good if you good register to vote through the website rather than download and send a paper form.
