Why do you hide the main phone number !

Birmingham City Council - 2014-04-10
CAN'T FIND NUMBER FOR SWITCHBOARD. NUMBER FOR ACCOUNTS 0121 464 7299 HAS BEEN ENGAGED SINCE TUESDAY!!!!!

Birmingham City Council - 2016-07-18
I found a page with telephone numbers easy enough, but the list was difficult to scan through, and I couldn't see a many number, only some departmental numbers

Brent Council - 2014-05-22
It would be good to have the phone number next to the address on the bottom of the screen as well as in the Contact us section. I work in schools and often find address and phone numbers at the bottom of the pages now.

Calderdale Council - 2015-08-12
very modern, many means of contact including live chats!

Cardiff Council - 2014-02-05
The navigation result was very easy because it wasn't necessary to click on anything. All you had to do to find it was to scroll down to the bottom of th epage and it was written clearly and visible for others (including me) to see. The A-Z section was good but maybe if it was more organised, then it would have been easier to find and the font and the case of the letters could be edited (it was all in upper case). However, it is good that Sans Serif fonts were used. On the internal search results, you didn't know which part to click on or which one was relevant. This could be in order of relevance. The Google result was very easy though.

Access via Google was easy, access through the website itself was a bit round the houses

Copeland Borough Council - 2014-02-12
Now although it's actually probably the easiest council website I've ever seen for finding the main phone number due to putting it in big numbers in the masthead area of every page, I'm actually marking it as 'gave up' on account of it being an 0845 number, which me, as a solely mobile phone user, would have to pay 35p per minute to use. This is not an acceptable practice for a council.

Coventry City Council - 2014-02-05
Apart from the Internal search result, the rest of the searching methods were very easy and were organised in the correct sections very well. On the navigation using the home page, it was really easy to notice it because there was a 'Contact Us' button right at the top of the home page and it gave other details as well as the phone number. On the A-Z, I searched under contacts and I found it. The Google result was also very easy as this option was near to the top and it was the most relevant. Apsrt from the internal search rsult (that can do with improving), the rest of the methods were very good and easy to use.

Needs a Contact Centre/Customer Care Centre/Switchboard entry in the A-Z

Harrow Council - 2013-12-17
Only 'contact' in search returned a useful result

Leeds City Council - 2013-12-13
It seems there is no main telephone number for this council.

Manchester City Council - 2013-12-17
Maybe not quite as difficult as 'difficult' but harder than 'easy' - link was where it would be expected to be, but labelling on the page is confusing.

Newcastle City Council - 2015-01-15
Although I gave up on looking for contact details using the A-Z index in reality the main contact details appear in the footer of every page so I would be able to find them this way.

Northumberland County Council - 2020-04-16
A-Z index result brought us 3 different Contact Us links. When searching "Contact Us" the only one brought up is for the Library.

Nottinghamshire County Council - 2014-03-14
The Contact Us link is actually top-left of the page. I did miss it for a while because of the small size and the grey text on a soft grey background.

Oxfordshire County Council - 2013-12-16
Internal search also tried "telephone number" and got a full list for the whole set of services. Not really what I wanted.

Southwark Council - 2014-04-17
Phone number is on the homepage so need to search for it.

Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council - 2015-02-11
Google found me Stockport Council but moving through different pages showed nu main switchboard number. There were emergency numbers.

Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council - 2014-10-28
the first result on the google listing page shows a different address and phone number to the one shown on the landing page, (once you click through to the page)

West Lindsey District Council - 2014-02-26
The phone number is shown at the top and bottom of the page. The information isn't on the A-Z feature but is widely available on the home page.
