About the scores
Each task can be tested according to five different criteria - navigation from the home page, navigation using the A-Z directory (where present), searching on Google, searching using the site's internal search, and the readability of the page. Scores are assigned according to 10 = Very easy, 8 = Easy, 4 = Difficult, and 1 = Gave up. As more users complete any given test, the score for each aspect of each task becomes a mean average of all the individual testers scores, and thus the more tests are completed the more reliable an indication of the usability of the website can be seen. The total scores in the table are thus the sum of the averaged scores for the whole suite of tasks which have been tested.
The Usability Index is the sum of the scores of all the tests which have been carried out, divided by the number of tests which have been taken for this council, resulting in an index score between 1 and 10, with 6 being the score which a nominallly usable website with room for improvement might be expected to achieve. If any criteria have had fewer than 15 tests, or the site as a whole has had fewer than 50 individually tested items, the final Index scores are shown in a grey background to indicate insufficient testing for the result to be a reliable indicator.
The Importance column shows the mean average of how important all the testers considered the ability to complete this task to be, ranging from 0 = Unimportant to 5 = Very important.

Broken street lights - report - 2014-02-26
'Broken street light' didn't return any information how 'street lighting' took me to a page in which I would report a faulty street light. Possibly look at amending the language? A form was launched to enable me to report the problem which was clunky and not user friendly. It contained a free text box in which to state the problem, would common issues in a drop down not be better? The google search took me to the A-Z list for the letter P! No idea why!

Council events are shown on the news feed however the visibility of this will depend on the volume of news. There is a calendar but this doesn't show the events detailed in the news feed!! It also shows a lot of information when clicked. The google search takes you too the home page.

There is a google map showing my location and the various facilities near me however this brought up the wrong postcode.
'Swimming' is an option on the features bar on the right hand side of the page which does take you the leisure centres page, could this be more generic?

It might be an idea to have a link to the plg committee on the 'residents-planning' drop down and the planning section in the A-Z. Terminology is in 'Council Speak' could this be made more suitable for the customer? 'planning committee dates' did not bring up the timetable but past minutes however 'committee dates' did.
The google search took me a page deep within the planning section of the website. There was a few errors on this page and it didn't contain any direct link to the cttee dates.

Im not keen on the drop down for the A-Z. When you click on toilets it should say the location of the toilet and not the main office

Aargh! Not only an irritating cookie warning but a Socitm popup - demerits. Worst strapline ever - the entrepreneurial council - how many people will understand what that means?
Google lists several relevant hits. But, pages take forever to load. Link to application is difficult to see on page. Then application won't open up. Disappointing.
Internal search - TPOs at top. (Advanced search? You mean the search facility is so bad it needs an advanced version.) Again the application won't open. And that cookie warning is still there.
Ok, page opens and now presented with a list of pdfs. Boy, this is proving to be painful.
The site uses tabs, but I get the feeling these are used for the sake of it or to disguise reams of boring and unnecessary content. meanwhile, the pdf still hasn't downloaded.
Interesting A to Z feature of concertina containing summary of topic, but actually since it gives information and not an action it's not really helpful.
When the pdf eventually loaded it wouldn't allow me to complete and save.
What promised to be a good experience from the look of the site turned out to be frustrating because it didn't function well.
Voting - register to - 2014-02-26
Postal and proxy voting is shown in the A-Z link, I think it would be an idea to include 'Vote-Register' as an option. A lot of information is on the page, not sure if it is all relevant. It would be good if you good register to vote through the website rather than download and send a paper form.
